911 Signs

Twenty Years ago (approximately 1998), a group of Milan Firefighters got into the sign making business to both raise funds for the Milan Volunteer Fire Dept and help save lives. At a time when seconds matter, many rural homes may be difficult to locate.

2nd Assistant Chief Jeffrey Galm has been coordinating a committee who make the blue signs with the reflective numbers that can be found in every town in Dutchess County, and parts of Columbia County. The signs come with predrilled holes for easy mounting to a structure, post or tree, if the home is located more then 150 feet from the road.

A $20 donation to the Milan fire dept covers the cost of the sign.
